Not suitable for: Not suitable for plastic or push-fit pipe systems without an appropriate insert and adapter. This is a solder fitting and requires a blow torch and correct flux to install, it is not a tool-free connection.
Cut the 15mm copper pipe cleanly and squarely, then clean the outside of the pipe end and the inside of the fitting socket with wire wool or emery cloth until bright. Apply a thin, even coat of flux to both surfaces. Fix the backplate to the wall at the correct position and height before soldering. Slide the fitting onto the pipe, apply heat evenly around the fitting body with a blow torch, and feed solder into the joint until it appears all the way around the socket rim. Allow to cool naturally before wiping away excess flux residue.
Once the solder joint is fully cool, wrap the half-inch female thread with PTFE tape before fitting the tap connector or valve body. Two to three turns of tape is generally sufficient on a BSP thread this size.
Cut the 15mm copper pipe square and remove any burr from the cut end
Clean the pipe end and fitting socket with wire wool or emery cloth until bright copper is visible
Apply flux to both the pipe end and the inside of the fitting socket
Screw the wallplate backplate to the wall at the correct height and position
Push the pipe fully home into the fitting socket
Heat the body of the fitting evenly with a blow torch until the flux begins to bubble
Feed solder into the joint at the socket rim until it flows all the way around
Allow the joint to cool completely before handling or pressure testing
Wipe away excess flux with a damp cloth once cool
Apply PTFE tape to the female thread before connecting the tap tail or valve body
