The Timco Velocity Premium Screws are among the most well-regarded woodscrews in the UK trade. The patented design is engineered specifically to drive faster, hold stronger, and split less than a standard screw. Whether you are first fixing frames, fixing decking boards, or working through engineered timber, these do the job cleanly and consistently.
The dual angle thread is what sets the Velocity apart from a basic woodscrew. It grips more of the material with each turn, which means better pull-out resistance without needing a larger diameter. That matters when you are fixing into softwood joists, MDF, or sheet materials where the screw count is high and the margin for error is low.
What Makes Timco Velocity Premium Screws Different
From 25mm upwards, the slash point tip reduces torque at the point of entry and helps prevent splitting when working close to board edges or end grain. Useful on a busy site where pre-drilling every screw is not realistic. From 40mm upwards, the partial thread prevents the top piece of timber jacking away from the substrate as you drive home — a common frustration with fully threaded screws on timber-to-timber connections.
The rapid drive twist cut on the shank clears waste material as the screw drives, which reduces resistance and keeps the driver bit seated properly. Less cam-out, less wasted effort, fewer stripped heads on a cold morning when everyone is in a hurry.

Pro Tip: When fixing two pieces of timber together, choose a screw length that allows the threaded portion to fully engage the receiving piece — aim for at least two-thirds of the screw length to bite into the substrate for maximum pull-out resistance.
