The P304 FFP3 valved respirator mask is a disposable cup-style face mask built for tradespeople who need serious filtration without spending half the day fighting with their PPE. FFP3 is the highest filtering class available in the EN 149 standard, filtering at least 99% of airborne particles, and the P304 pairs that performance with a design that actually gets worn rather than slung on the passenger seat.
The lightweight cup shape holds its form without crushing flat in your tool bag, and the EVA foam padding under the adjustable nose bridge means you get a decent seal without the red marks across your face at the end of a shift. The nose bar is metal-free and fully adjustable, which also helps reduce fogging on safety glasses — useful if you’re working somewhere that requires both.
What Makes the P304 FFP3 Respirator Worth Using
The exhalation valve is the practical bit people notice first. In warm or humid environments, masks without a valve trap heat and moisture quickly, making them uncomfortable enough that workers start wearing them incorrectly or take them off altogether. The high-performance valve on the P304 vents exhaled air efficiently, keeping the inside of the mask noticeably cooler and drier during extended wear.
The head straps are ultrasonically welded rather than stitched or glued, which means they hold up properly through a full day’s use without gradually peeling away from the mask body. Construction quality on disposable respiratory protection is easy to overlook, but a strap that fails mid-job is no use to anyone.
Dolomite Clogging Test
The P304 carries the optional Dolomite (D) clogging test certification as part of its EN 149:2001+A1:2009 FFP3 NR D rating. This test puts the mask through sustained exposure to fine calcium carbonate dust to verify that filtration performance and breathability hold up over time, not just at the start of use. For dusty environments like stone cutting, demolition, or dry-lining work, this distinction matters.
CE Cat III rated, which is the classification required for PPE that protects against risks that may cause serious harm — exactly the category that respiratory protection falls into.
Pro Tip: When fitting the P304, press the nose bar down firmly with two fingers and work outward from the centre to get a consistent seal across the bridge — a properly seated nose bar makes a bigger difference to filtration performance than most people realise.
