Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 1 October 2026
These terms apply to every order you place on discount-trade-supplies.com. Please read them alongside our Delivery Information, Refund and Returns Policy, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. By placing an order you accept them. If something here doesn’t match what we told you on the phone, say so before you order.

2. Who These Terms Apply To
A “consumer” is someone buying for purposes wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession. A “business customer” is everyone else, including trade account holders. Some sections apply to one group only and say so. Where a section doesn’t say, it applies to both.
3. Placing an Order
Adding something to your basket doesn’t create a contract. When you submit an order we’ll email you to acknowledge it, but the contract between us only begins when we dispatch your goods, or tell you in writing that we have accepted your order. If we dispatch only part of an order, a separate contract exists for each part.
We can decline an order, for example if an item is unavailable, a price was shown in error or we can’t deliver to your address. If we do, we’ll tell you and refund anything you have paid. Please check your order carefully before you submit it.
4. Products and Stock
We take care to describe products accurately, but photographs are illustrative and manufacturers sometimes change specifications, packaging or pack sizes. You are responsible for checking that a product suits your job, particularly for fixings, electrical, plumbing, roofing and safety products.
Stock levels shown on the website are a guide. Some products are sent to you straight from our suppliers. If something turns out to be unavailable or delayed, we’ll contact you before dispatch and offer you the choice of waiting, an alternative product, or a refund for that item.
5. Prices and VAT
Prices are in pounds sterling. The website can show prices with or without VAT, so check which one you are looking at. VAT is added at the standard rate at checkout and shown on your order. Prices can change without notice, but a change never affects an order we have already accepted.
If we spot an obvious pricing error, we’ll tell you and give you the choice of buying at the correct price or cancelling for a full refund. Bulk and quantity discounts apply as shown in your basket. Trade pricing is for approved trade account holders only.
6. Payment
We accept the payment methods offered at checkout, currently card payments and PayPal. Card payments are processed securely by our payment providers, and we don’t store your full card details.
Payment is due in full when you place your order, unless we have agreed account terms with you in writing. Credit terms are never automatic. They are agreed with business customers case by case and can be reviewed, changed or withdrawn. If an agreed credit payment is late, we may charge interest and compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 and pause further supply until the account is settled.
7. Delivery
Our Delivery Information page sets out charges, timescales and cut-off times, and forms part of these terms. In short: delivery is free to the mainland UK on orders over £100 + VAT, £7.50 + VAT below that, and typically takes 1 to 5 working days. Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and islands, and other remote areas may cost more or take longer, and we’ll confirm the details with you before dispatch.
Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees, and time is not of the essence unless we have agreed a specific delivery in writing. An order may arrive in more than one delivery at no extra cost. Someone must be able to receive the goods, and give safe access to the delivery point. If a delivery fails because nobody could receive it or access was not possible, we may charge for redelivery.
8. Risk and Ownership
The goods are at your risk from the moment they are delivered to you or collected by you. Ownership passes to you only when we have received payment in full for them, including delivery charges. Until then, we may ask for the goods back if you cannot pay, and business customers must keep them separate and identifiable.
9. Cancelling an Order and Returns
Before dispatch. Contact us as soon as you can. If your order has not left us, we’ll cancel it and refund you. If it has, we’ll treat it as a return.
Consumers. You can cancel within 14 days of receiving your goods under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, without giving a reason. Tell us clearly that you wish to cancel, then return the goods within 14 days of telling us. The right does not apply to goods made to your specification or cut to length for you, or to sealed goods that cannot be returned for health or hygiene reasons once opened.
Our 30-day returns period. Separately from your statutory rights, we accept returns within 30 days of delivery if the goods are unused, in their original condition and packaging, and fit to be resold. Contact us before you send anything back so we can guide you. Unless the goods are faulty or incorrect, you pay the cost of returning them. Opened sealants, adhesives and chemical products, opened safety or perishable products, and special-order or custom items are not normally returnable. Our Refund and Returns Policy has the full process, and forms part of these terms.
Business customers. You have no statutory right to cancel. We will usually accept returns within our 30-day period, but returns of trade and business purchases can be subject to restocking fees or supplier terms. Please call us before returning anything.
Refunds. We refund to the original payment method once we have received and inspected the goods, usually within 5 to 10 working days. Original delivery charges are refunded only where goods are faulty or were supplied incorrectly.
10. Damaged, Faulty or Missing Goods
Please check your goods when they arrive. If anything is damaged, faulty, incorrect or missing, contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours, with your order number and photographs. Where you can, note visible damage on the delivery paperwork.
We’ll then arrange a replacement, a repair or a refund as appropriate. If you are a consumer, your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by anything in these terms: goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for their purpose and as described, and you can reject faulty goods for a full refund within 30 days of delivery. If goods are missing, we’ll investigate with the carrier or supplier and either send what is missing or refund it.
11. Business and Trade Customers
If you are a business customer, these terms are the whole agreement between us and replace any terms you try to apply, including those on a purchase order. The consumer rights in sections 9 and 10 do not apply to you, though we’ll still act fairly if goods arrive damaged, faulty or wrong.
We decide who qualifies for a trade account. Trade pricing and credit terms are agreed individually, may be reviewed or withdrawn, and we may ask for a credit check with your consent. Please give us accurate company and VAT details, and tell us if they change. You are responsible for making sure the goods are right for your intended use and are used by competent people in line with the manufacturer’s instructions.
12. Our Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude.
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms, but not for loss that was not foreseeable.
If you are a business customer, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts or goodwill, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you for any order is limited to the price you paid for the goods in that order.
13. Events Outside Our Control
We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including supplier or carrier failure, severe weather, strikes, fuel shortages, road closures or a power or network outage. If that happens we’ll tell you as soon as we can and do what we reasonably can to limit the effect on your order.
14. Your Information
How we collect and use your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy, and how we use cookies in our Cookie Policy.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on the website when you place your order is the one that applies to that order.
16. General
If a part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we haven’t given it up. You may not transfer your rights under a contract with us without our written agreement. Someone who is not a party to a contract with us has no right to enforce it.
17. Complaints and Contact
If something has gone wrong, we want to hear about it first. Ring us on 0330 999 8665 or email info@discount-trade-supplies.com, and we’ll do our best to put it right. Our Contact page has our opening hours and address.
18. Governing Law
These terms and any contract between us are governed by the law of England and Wales. For business customers, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts of the part of the UK where you live.
