When you need to shift serious volumes of air, a domestic pedestal fan is not going to cut it. The Sealey HVF24S is a 24 inch high velocity fan built for exactly these situations — large industrial spaces, busy workshops, drying out buildings, or anywhere that needs proper airflow rather than a light breeze. With a maximum output of 155.3m³/min (5,484 CFM), it moves air fast and in quantity.
The fan runs on standard 230V supply and comes fitted with a 3-pin plug, so there is no wiring required. Plug it in and it is working within seconds. Two speed settings give you control depending on whether you need background circulation or full-bore air movement. Most sites and workshops will find the high setting more than sufficient for cooling large open areas or clearing airborne dust and fumes from the workspace.
360° Tilt and the Practical Advantage of the Drum Design
The 360° tilt function is one of the more useful features on this fan. Most drum fans offer a limited tilt range — useful to a point, but restrictive if you need airflow directed at floor level, overhead, or at a specific angle across a large space. The HVF24S tilts on a full 360° axis, meaning you can point it precisely where the air needs to go, whether that is straight across a drying floor, up towards a ceiling to drive warm air back down in winter, or directed along a paint bay to assist curing.
The drum format also makes it straightforward to move around site. The frame and handle design means one person can carry it between areas, and it sits stably on the floor without needing to be secured. Worth noting: the heavy-duty gauge steel casing and fully guarded blades are not just about longevity. On a busy workshop floor or agricultural site, you want equipment that can take a knock or two without being written off. The steel construction handles knocks that would buckle a plastic-bodied fan.
Where the Sealey HVF24S Gets Used
This fan earns its keep in a wide range of settings. Industrial and manufacturing units use drum fans like this for general temperature management and ventilation across large open floors. Automotive workshops and spray booths use them to keep air moving during painting and bodywork. Agricultural buildings — particularly livestock housing and storage facilities — benefit from the high-volume airflow during warmer months. Warehouses and distribution centres use them to keep staff comfortable and prevent heat buildup in poorly ventilated areas.
It is equally at home on a construction site drying out a building after plastering or screeding, where moving damp air out quickly is the difference between getting back on programme and waiting around. A 24 inch high velocity fan of this output can make a noticeable difference to drying times when used alongside heating.
The HVF24S is a workhorse. It is not complicated, it does not require setting up for twenty minutes, and it handles the kind of continuous use that lighter fans cannot cope with.
Pro Tip: When using the HVF24S for post-plaster or post-screed drying, position the fan to draw air across the surface rather than blowing directly onto it — this pulls moisture-laden air away from the surface more effectively and reduces the risk of surface cracking from uneven drying.
