The Sealey IR13 is a 13kW industrial infrared diesel heater built for workshops, warehouses, garages and marquees. No fan, no dust, no fuss. Runs on around 1 litre of diesel per hour with a 24hr timer, thermostat and a full set of safety cut-offs.
The Sealey IR13 is a 13kW industrial infrared diesel heater designed for serious working environments where you need reliable, even heat without the noise and dust circulation that comes with fan-driven units. Infrared heating works by warming objects and surfaces directly rather than blowing heated air around, which means the warmth feels immediate and consistent across the space rather than gathering near the ceiling where it is precisely no use to anyone.
Running on clean diesel at approximately 1 litre per hour, operating costs are low compared to electric alternatives at this output level. The burn is clean and the fuel supply is precisely regulated, so there are no unpleasant fumes and no carbon monoxide risk from incomplete combustion. That said, adequate ventilation is still required, as it is with any fuel-burning appliance indoors.
Safety and Control on the Sealey IR13 Industrial Infrared Diesel Heater
Sealey has packed a sensible set of safety features into this unit. Overheat protection, auto-misfire detection, tilt and shock sensors, low fuel cut-off and flame-out fuel cut all work together to shut the heater down if something goes wrong. In a busy workshop or site environment, that kind of automatic protection matters. The soft-touch control panel with LED display makes it straightforward to set up, and the 24-hour timer with temperature-control thermostat means you can heat a space before you arrive and not waste fuel once it has reached temperature.
Four castor wheels make it easy to reposition the unit between jobs or across a large floor space. Optional stainless steel exhaust extensions are available separately (IREX1, IREX2, IREX3) if you need to duct the exhaust outside. Backed by a 3-year guarantee, this is a heater built to work hard through many a cold season on site.
Pro Tip: Always uncoil or straighten any exhaust extension pipe fully before running the heater for extended periods, and check the fuel filter regularly if you are working from older diesel stock as contaminated fuel is the most common cause of ignition faults on infrared diesel heaters.
