Long TX30 impact driver bits that are actually built to last in an impact driver — not just rated for one and then snapped on the second deck screw. These TX30 x 50mm bits are made from a high-spec steel alloy developed specifically to handle the punishing torque peaks that modern impact drivers produce. At 50mm, you get better reach into recessed fixings and more working length before the bit needs changing.
The metallurgy here is where it matters. The heat treatment process increases hardness at the tip — where drive engagement happens — while deliberately reducing hardness along the body. That sounds counterintuitive, but it is exactly right. A bit that is uniformly hard will shatter under repeated impact loads. A bit with a slightly flexible body absorbs that energy and keeps going. Think of it like the difference between a steel bar and a spring: one snaps, one works.
