M42 bi-metal reciprocating saw blades built for demolition work. Extra wide 22mm, extra thick 1.5mm with an 8% cobalt HSS cutting edge. Cuts wood, nailed timber, aluminium and plasterboard. Universal fitting. Pack of 3.
These 150mm cobalt wood reciprocating saw blades are built for the kind of cutting that chews through lesser blades in minutes. M42 bi-metal construction with 8% cobalt content gives the HSS teeth real staying power, whether you’re ripping through nailed timber, stripping out plasterboard, or cutting aluminium sections during a demolition strip-out. At 6 TPI, the cut is fast and aggressive. Not delicate, not refined. Fast.
The blade geometry here is worth paying attention to. At 22mm wide and 1.5mm thick, these are considerably beefier than standard reciprocating saw blades. That extra width and thickness matters when you’re pushing through mixed material or hitting unexpected fixings. There’s far less flex, far less chance of the blade wandering or jamming mid-cut, and the body holds its shape when the going gets rough. Special geometry milled teeth give a cleaner bite than you’d expect from a blade at this price point.
Where These 150mm Cobalt Blades Earn Their Keep
Demolition work is the obvious home for these blades. First fix strip-outs, timber frame removal, cutting studwork with screws still in it, ripping through old floor sheeting. They handle all of it without drama. The cobalt content in the M42 steel makes a real difference when you hit metal fixings embedded in wood. Most bi-metal blades without cobalt will dull quickly in that situation. These keep cutting.
Non-ferrous metals are well within scope too. Aluminium is a common ask on site, whether it’s cutting down extrusion, trimming window frames, or working with lightweight structural sections. The 6 TPI pitch is coarse enough to clear swarf efficiently and prevent the gullets from loading up.
Universal Fitting, Fits Most Machines
The universal shank fits the vast majority of reciprocating saws on site, so no compatibility headaches. These are a close equivalent to the Bosch S610DF if you need a benchmark. Pack of 3 means you have spares to hand when one blade finally gives up the ghost, which, given the build quality, takes considerably longer than you might expect.
Pro Tip: When cutting aluminium with a reciprocating saw blade, keep your stroke speed moderate and let the teeth do the work. Forcing the pace generates heat that softens the blade edge far quicker than the cutting resistance itself ever would.
