CT1 adhesive and sealant is one of those products that earns its place in the van and stays there. Developed as a genuine all-in-one hybrid polymer formula, CT1 bonds and seals across an unusually wide range of materials without needing a separate primer, activator, or mechanical fixing. One tube does both jobs, and does them properly.
The formula is based on TRIBRID technology, which gives CT1 adhesive its flexibility and grip across dissimilar materials. Unlike standard silicone sealants, CT1 does not shrink, crack, or lose adhesion as the substrate moves. It cures to a flexible, waterproof seal that handles both movement and load, which is why it gets used on everything from roofline repairs to bathroom installations to structural bonding jobs.
CT1 bonds well to all metals, including lead. This makes it genuinely useful for roofing work where lead flashing needs bonding or sealing without hot work. It also grips glass, mirrors, all timber types, MDF, fibreglass, polystyrene, concrete, most natural stone (without staining), and most synthetic materials and plastics. The main exceptions are PP, PE, and PTFE — CT1 will not bond to these materials, and there is no point pretending otherwise.
It can be applied to wet or damp surfaces, which matters more than most sealants will admit. On a building site or a roofing job, conditions are rarely ideal. CT1 does not need a dry substrate to achieve a sound bond, which saves time and removes one excuse for the repair failing by next spring.
Where CT1 Sealant and Adhesive Gets Used
Roofers use CT1 for bonding lead flashing, sealing around flashings and upstands, and fixing roof trim without screws. Joiners and site carpenters reach for it when they need a structural bond with built-in flex. Tilers use it as an adhesive and grout substitute around sanitary ware where movement is likely. Plumbers use it to seal around pipework penetrations. Once it is on site, it tends to get used for all sorts of things that nobody planned for — which is either a recommendation or a warning, depending on how you look at it.
Colour Options
CT1 is available in White, Black, Grey, Anthracite, Brown, Beige, Oak, and Crystal Clear, so it can be matched to the substrate or finished surface rather than left as an obvious bead of the wrong colour. Crystal Clear cures transparent, which suits glass applications and anywhere a clean finish matters.
Available individually or in a box of 12, making it straightforward to stock on site or in the van. The box price brings the per-tube cost down noticeably, which adds up when CT1 becomes the go-to sealant for a regular trade.
Pro Tip: When applying CT1 to lead flashing, clean the surface with a solvent wipe first to remove any oxide layer, as this gives a significantly stronger initial bond and helps the cure get started properly.
