Green treated decking screws are a specific fix for a specific problem. Standard zinc-plated screws and even many stainless options can react badly with the copper-based preservatives used in pressure-treated timber, leading to corrosion at the fixing point and staining on the deck surface. These screws are coated to resist exactly that. If you’re building on treated softwood, these are the ones to use.
Available in four lengths — 4.5 x 50mm, 4.5 x 55mm, 4.5 x 60mm and 4.5 x 75mm — there’s a size to suit most standard decking board thicknesses and joist configurations.
