Forgefast Torx Timberfix construction screws are built for structural timber work where strength and corrosion resistance actually matter. These hex head screws combine a deep Torx recess with a hexagonal outer, giving you two drive options and virtually eliminating cam-out when you’re driving into dense softwood or hardwood. The kind of screw you can lean on.
The self-drilling thread is where these earn their keep. A patented design bites immediately and cuts its own path, removing the need for pilot holes in most applications. That means faster fixing and significantly less risk of splitting — particularly useful when you’re working close to board edges or into end grain where lesser screws would cause problems.
Built for Structural Work
These aren’t glorified wood screws with a marketing budget. Forgefast Timberfix screws carry CE approval for use in load-bearing timber construction, which means they’ve been tested and certified for structural applications. Roof trusses, joist hangers, timber frame connections, pergola posts — anywhere the building inspector might take an interest.
The hardened case and core give exceptional shear and tensile strength, while the design allows flex up to 35 degrees before failure. In substrates that move — decking, cladding, outdoor structures — that flexibility reduces the chance of screws shearing under stress or working loose over time.
Corrosion Protection That Works
The tan finish isn’t just cosmetic. Elementech 2000 surface treatment provides corrosion resistance up to twice as long as standard zinc-plated timber screws. For exterior applications or anywhere exposed to moisture, that’s the difference between a fixing that lasts and one that leaves rust stains down your client’s new cladding.
Available in lengths from 65mm right up to 250mm, all at 7.0mm gauge. Supplied in tubs of 50 — enough for a decent run without rattling around loose in your van for the next six months.
Pro Tip: Run the hex head with a socket driver for maximum torque on longer screws, then switch to the Torx insert for final seating if you need finer control.
