Where Index Exterior Carriage Bolts Are Used
The domed head profile of the Index exterior carriage bolt gives a clean finish on the face side of the timber. It’s a proper carriage bolt, so the square shank locks into the wood as you tighten, stopping the bolt from spinning while you run the nut up on the back. That detail matters when you’re working alone or in awkward positions. No one wants to hold a bolt still with one hand and reach around the back of a post with the other.
DIN Standards and Build Quality
The bolt conforms to DIN603 and the hexagon nut to DIN934, which gives you confidence in thread form, dimensional accuracy and load capacity. These are well-established European standards, not marketing fluff. Available in lengths from 100mm through to 220mm at 10mm diameter, there’s enough range to cover most structural timber joinery without needing to source anything special.
