The Gorilla Tub has become one of those things on a building site that people forget to question — it just works. Whether you’re mixing a small batch of plaster, hauling rubble, or pressing one flat against a wall to scrape wallpaper into, the gorilla tub does what it does because of one thing: the flexibility of the body. That single property is what separates it from a standard plastic bucket or rigid cement tub.

Available in five sizes — 14L, 26L, 35L shallow, 42L and 75L — there’s a size for almost every site task you can think of. The shallow 35L is particularly useful for scooping, since you can press it right to the floor without the sides getting in the way. The larger 42L and 75L are the ones that spend most of their time doing rubble removal or sitting under a scaffold board collecting chippings and offcuts.

What Makes the Gorilla Tub Worth Keeping Around

The handles are tested to a working load of 100 kilograms, which means two people can carry a genuinely heavy load between them without any concern about a handle giving way at the wrong moment. That’s not a small thing when you’re shifting material up a staircase or across a site. The tubs are also shaped for pouring — squeeze the side and you get a reasonable spout, handy when you’re tipping mixed product into a corner without making a mess of everything nearby.

Mixed plaster or mortar that’s dried in the tub? A few kicks to the body will crack it loose. No chipping, no scrubbing, just a bit of boot. It’s one of those practical advantages that doesn’t get listed on the spec sheet but that any plasterer or bricklayer who’s used one will tell you immediately.

Gorilla Tubs are used across roofing, groundworks, plastering, decorating, painting, tiling and general labouring. They’re also decent as a temporary tool carrier, a water container on a roof, or a broken glass carrier where you need something that won’t crack or shatter if it gets dropped. The flexibility that makes them useful for mixing is the same flexibility that makes them survive site life far longer than you’d expect.

Pro Tip: If you're buying Gorilla Tubs in quantities of 10 or more, call the sales team directly on 0330 999 8665 as bulk pricing is available that won't show at checkout.
