Clean the joint or penetration thoroughly before application. Remove any dust, loose material or existing sealant, and make sure the substrate is dry. Apply Fire Mate using a standard skeleton gun loaded with the C3 cartridge, filling the joint completely without leaving voids.
Tool off the surface with a wetted finger or spatula to achieve a neat finish. The sealant is water-based, so any excess can be cleaned up with water before it cures. Once cured, it can be overpainted directly without primer. Allow adequate curing time before painting, particularly in cooler or less ventilated conditions where curing will be slower.
Ensure the joint or penetration is clean, dry and free from dust, grease and loose material
Cut the cartridge nozzle to the required bead diameter and load into a C3 skeleton gun
Apply the sealant in a continuous bead, filling the joint fully without gaps or voids
