The Senco DS722 18V cordless collated screw gun is a serious piece of kit built for tradespeople who are putting in screws by the hundred rather than the handful. With an 8.13Nm high torque motor designed specifically not to bog down mid-drive, it runs at up to 2500rpm no-load and can knock out between 600 and 1400 drives per battery charge depending on your application. That is a lot of decking, drywall, or framing before you are reaching for the spare pack.

Screw diameter range is 3.5mm to 4.8mm and screw length runs from 25mm to 75mm, which covers the vast majority of collated work you will encounter on site. The variable speed trigger gives you genuine control, which matters when you are self-tapping into steel rather than driving into timber. There is also a trigger lock for sustained use, which saves your finger on longer runs.

What Makes the Senco DS722 Worth Carrying

The depth of drive is adjustable with a depth lock, so you can dial in flush drive or countersink and trust it to stay consistent across the whole job. The tool-free adjustable nosepiece has easy-read length markings, and the quick slide bit release is genuinely clever — push the slide and the bit simply drops out. No fiddling. The super hard drive bits supplied are noticeably more durable than standard bits, and the corner fit feed system gives you better access and sightlines in tight spots. There is a reverse switch for backing out screws, which you will appreciate at least once every job.

At 2.58kg it is light enough to use all day without your arm hating you by lunchtime. The ergonomic grip and secondary hand grip reduce fatigue on extended runs, and the belt hook keeps it within reach rather than on the floor somewhere. Supplied with two 3.0Ah lithium-ion batteries, a 60-minute charger, drywall and wood nose adaptors, three PH2 bits, and a carry case.

Pro Tip: When switching between drywall and timber applications, swap the nosepiece adaptor and reset your depth of drive before the first fastener — the two materials behave differently under the collated feed and a quick reset saves a lot of countersinking corrections.
