Timberfix Forgefast Torx structural timber screws are built around a spiral shank that borrows technology from high-speed twist drills. That spiral shank means the screw cuts through timber more cleanly and with less resistance, so you get faster insertion and less effort driving each one home. For anyone fixing timber all day, that adds up quickly.
The partial thread is worth mentioning too. It reduces the jacking effect you get with full-thread screws in timber-to-timber applications, where both pieces start pulling apart as the screw drives in. These screws pull the joint tight and keep it there.
What Makes the Forgefast Torx Design Different
Each screw carries two drive options: a Torx head and a hex head. The Torx delivers higher torque with lower cam-out risk, which matters when you are driving long screws into hardwood or engineered timber. The hex head is there when you prefer a nut runner or socket driver. Pick whichever suits the job and get on with it.
The coarse thread on the timber screws gives solid holding power in softwood, fencing posts, and landscaping timbers. The decking variant is designed to handle timber that moves with moisture and temperature changes, maintaining pull-out resistance even as the board shifts beneath foot traffic.
Corrosion Protection on Forgefast Structural Screws
All screws carry a green RUSPERT corrosion-resistant coating, salt spray tested to 1000 hours. That is a serious level of protection for outdoor timber work, including decking, garden structures, and fencing in exposed locations. The green finish also makes it easy to spot if you have reached for the wrong box on site, which happens to the best of us.
Available in a range of sizes from 6.7 x 140mm up to 7.0 x 250mm, supplied in boxes of 50.
Pro Tip: When driving 190mm or longer screws into dense or engineered timber, pre-drilling a pilot hole slightly smaller than the shank diameter will prevent splitting and reduce the torque load on your driver, keeping both the timber and your battery in better shape.
