Tear or cut to length as needed. Press the tape firmly along the edge you want to protect, smoothing it down with a finger or filling knife to prevent paint bleed underneath. Remove the tape while the paint is still slightly tacky for the cleanest line. Peeling off fully dried paint can sometimes lift the edge.
