Junior hacksaw blades are one of those things you go through faster than you expect on site. Run out mid-job and suddenly a ten-minute task turns into a trip to the merchant. Keeping a box to hand just makes sense. These 250mm 32tpi junior hacksaw blades are designed for efficient cutting through metal, and the fine 32 teeth-per-inch pitch makes them well suited to thin-walled sections, pipe, conduit, and small-section steel where a coarser blade would tear and snag rather than cut cleanly.
Three grades are available to suit different working situations. The standard option is a solid everyday blade for general use. The Contractors grade steps things up for heavier daily use where blades are getting swapped out regularly and you need reliable performance without paying premium prices. The Premium grade is where you get longer blade life and a cleaner cut, worth considering if you are doing precision or repetitive work and want to get more cuts out of each blade before it dulls.
Why Junior Hacksaw Blades Are Worth Buying in Bulk
At this price point, buying in boxes of ten or one hundred is a straightforward decision. Blades are a consumable. They blunt, they snap if they get twisted in a tight cut, and they get borrowed and never returned. Having a decent stock means you are never hunting around for a blade when you just need to get on with the job.
The virtually unbreakable construction in normal use is a fair claim for a blade this size. That said, junior hacksaw blades do not appreciate being forced through material at awkward angles. Keep the blade tensioned properly in the frame and let the teeth do the work.
Pro Tip: Fit the blade with the teeth pointing forward so it cuts on the push stroke, and keep the frame tensioned firmly before you start cutting, a slack blade wanders and dulls far quicker than a properly tensioned one.
