Unifix brown cable clips are the kind of thing you don’t appreciate until you’ve used cheaper alternatives that split on the nail or pull out under load. These are made from heat-resistant polypropylene with a hardened masonry nail already fitted, so you’re driving straight into brick, block or timber without drilling first. For anyone clipping runs of cable through a property, that adds up to a lot of saved time by the end of the job.
The nail holder on these clips is reinforced, which matters more than it sounds. On longer cable runs, clips are under constant pressure from the cable trying to return to its natural shape. A weak clip body works loose over time. These stay put. They’re also rated for long-term external use, so they’re equally at home clipping cables up the outside of a building as they are inside.
Where Unifix Brown Cable Clips Work Best
Brown is the standard colour for timber and most masonry backgrounds where you want the clip to blend in rather than stand out like a white clip on a red brick wall. The four size options cover most common cable diameters, from 3.5mm up to 7.0mm, so whether you’re running twin and earth or round flex, there’s a clip that fits properly rather than just about gripping.
Extra Fixing Options
If the substrate is soft block or anything that won’t hold a nail reliably, these cable clips are designed to work alongside Unifix Nail Plugs for a more secure fix. They’ll also accept a No.8 woodscrew if you’d rather not nail at all, which is handy on hardwood frames or where you need to be able to remove and refit clips without damage. Sold in boxes of 1000, these brown cable clips make sense for trade use where you’re buying to last a job rather than a single room.
Pro Tip: On external cable runs, pre-sort your clips by size before you start the run so you're not fumbling through a mixed handful on a ladder in the cold.
