One-component polyurethane adhesive foam in an 800ml aerosol can. Fast moisture-curing, minimal expansion, and ideal for bonding insulation panels including XPS and EPS polystyrene. Suitable for low temperatures down to 0°C.

The Demsun P96 PU adhesive foam is a one-component polyurethane aerosol foam that cures on contact with moisture in the air. At 800ml per can, it delivers a high yield of up to 55 litres of foam depending on site conditions, making it a genuinely economical choice for insulation work. If you’ve spent time mixing adhesive mortar on a cold morning only to find it’s gone off before the second row of boards is up, this is a different experience entirely.

What sets the P96 apart from standard expanding foam is its behaviour after application. Expansion during curing is minimal, and once dried, it won’t continue to expand or shrink. That matters when you’re bonding heat insulation panels to a flat surface and need predictable results. It also means there’s no risk of the boards bowing out or the adhesive creeping into gaps it shouldn’t.

Where Demsun P96 PU Adhesive Foam Gets Used

The P96 is specifically designed for bonding polystyrene insulation panels, both XPS and EPS types, to walls and structural surfaces. It achieves instant adhesion and provides enough initial hold for wall plugging within two hours, so you’re not standing there holding a board against a wall wondering if it’s ever going to grip. The foam is considerably lighter than traditional plaster-based adhesives, which reduces loading on the structure, useful in retrofit insulation scenarios where you’re working with existing substrates.

Beyond Insulation Boards

It works well for bonding timber frame components to concrete or metal, filling voids around window and door frames, and anywhere you need a fast-setting adhesive with low expansion characteristics. It’s ready to use straight from the can, no mixing, no waste from batching up more than you need.

The P96 is rated Fire Class E in accordance with EN 13501-1, equivalent to B2 under DIN 4102 Part 1. It contains no ozone-depleting propellant gases and can be used in temperatures as low as 0°C, which covers most UK site conditions through autumn and winter without any drama.

Pro Tip: For best adhesion on smooth concrete or metal surfaces, lightly dampen the substrate with a mist of water before applying the foam, as the P96 cures by reacting with moisture and a slightly wet surface speeds up initial grab.
