The Bond It MM50 sanitary silicone is a mid modulus, acetoxy cure sealant designed specifically for internal wet areas. It contains a powerful anti-fungal compound that actively resists mould growth, which matters in a bathroom far more than most people admit until they are resealing a shower for the third time in two years. Whether you are sealing a shower tray, bedding a basin to a vanity unit, or finishing around a kitchen worktop, this is the product built for the job.
Mid modulus means it sits between a standard low modulus silicone and a high modulus structural one. It is flexible enough to absorb normal movement without cracking, while still providing a firm, durable seal that holds its shape. High viscosity formula helps here too — it stays where you put it rather than running away from a vertical joint before you have chance to tool it off.
Where Bond It MM50 Sanitary Silicone Gets Used
This sealant is suited to a wide range of internal surfaces that commonly appear together in bathrooms and kitchens. Glass, enamel, laminates, melamine, anodised aluminium, lacquered metals and sanitary plastics are all compatible. On the building fabric side, it bonds well to painted timber, painted plaster, and primed or painted concrete. That broad compatibility makes it practical across most standard bathroom and kitchen fit-out scenarios without needing a second product.
UKCA Approval and Mould Resistance
The MM50 carries UKCA approval, which is increasingly relevant on specified commercial or public-sector projects where certification needs to be on record. The anti-fungal compound is not a surface treatment — it is part of the formulation, so it works through the life of the seal rather than washing off after a few months of steam and condensation.
Available in White, Clear, Jasmine and Manhattan Grey, there is a colour option for most standard sanitaryware and tiling finishes. At 285ml, a single cartridge covers a good amount of work for a bathroom installation or a kitchen sink fit. If you are buying for multiple jobs or a full refurb programme, bulk pricing is available on request.
Pro Tip: When tooling off acetoxy silicone, use a dry finger or a lightly dampened one rather than a wet tool — too much water can smear the surface and drag anti-fungal compound out of the joint before it has had a chance to skin.
