Everbuild General Purpose Silicone Sealant is one of those products that earns its place in virtually every trade kit. It’s a mid-modulus, acetoxy cure silicone that sets quickly, stays permanently flexible, and forms a high-strength waterproof seal across a wide range of common building applications. If you’ve got a bathroom to seal, a gutter joint to sort, or a PVCu trim to fix in place, this is the product you reach for.
The anti-fungal formula is worth mentioning up front, because it actually does something useful. In bathrooms, shower enclosures and anywhere with regular moisture exposure, standard silicone can start showing black mould within months. The fungicide in this sealant inhibits that growth, so the seal stays looking clean and performing correctly for considerably longer. Not a guarantee against poor ventilation, obviously, but it helps.
Where Everbuild General Purpose Silicone Sealant Gets Used
This is acetoxy cure silicone, which means it gives off a faint vinegar smell as it cures. That’s completely normal and nothing to worry about on site. The low viscosity makes it straightforward to apply from a standard cartridge gun, and it flows into joints cleanly without needing excessive tooling. Cure time is reasonably quick, which keeps dirt pick-up low before the surface skins over.
Colour Options
Available in white, clear, grey, brown and black, so you can match the sealant to the application rather than reaching for white by default and hoping nobody notices. Grey works well against stone or aluminium. Brown sits neatly on timber or wooden-effect cladding. Clear is your friend when the substrate colour is doing the work.
At this price point, stocking a few cartridges across the colour range makes sense for any tradesperson who moves between kitchens, bathrooms and external work regularly.
Pro Tip: Acetoxy silicone should not be used on natural stone, cement, or copper surfaces as the acetic acid released during cure can cause staining or corrosion, use a neutral cure silicone on those substrates instead.
