The Forgefast Torx-Fast Elite woodscrews are a serious step up from standard yellow zinc screws. Available in bulk tubs across a wide range of sizes, these are the forgefast torx fast screw tubs that joiners, carpenters and general builders keep coming back to. Every tub includes a free Torx bit, which is a small touch but one that saves you rummaging through the van at 7am.
The Elementech 400 surface coating gives genuine corrosion resistance, tested to 400 hours in salt spray conditions. The Non-Cr, Cr3+ finish is environmentally cleaner than older zinc processes, which matters more now that sites are paying attention to that sort of thing. For most indoor and sheltered outdoor timber work, these will outlast the job they’re fixing.
What Makes the Forgefast Torx-Fast Elite Different
The patented self-drilling thread means no pilot hole in most situations, including hardwood, which cuts down the time significantly on busy fixing jobs. The sharp point can penetrate 0.8mm steel before it even reaches the timber, so thin steel brackets and plates are no problem. The drill-and-drive shank reduces splitting, limits jacking of the timber and increases pull-out strength compared to a standard twin-thread screw.
The deep Torx-compatible head gives a firmer drive and far less cam-out than a Pozi or Phillips equivalent. If you’ve ever stripped a screw head mid-drive because the bit slipped, you’ll appreciate why this matters. The screw also flexes up to 35 degrees without shearing, which is useful in decking, cladding and any substrate that moves with moisture or load.
CE approved for load-bearing timber construction, so these can be used with confidence in structural applications. The hardened case and core, combined with recessed countersinking ribs, give a clean, flush finish with strong pull-out values throughout.
Pro Tip: On hardwood jobs, reduce your driver speed slightly when the screw is nearly flush to avoid overdriving and snapping the head, even with the hardened shank these screws are not immune to an overenthusiastic impact driver on dry oak.
