A 20 piece mixed jigsaw blade set covering wood, metal and plastic cutting. Eight blade types including High Carbon Steel and HSS blades, all with universal T-shank fitting. Bosch equivalent references included for easy cross-referencing.
A 20 piece mixed jigsaw blade set that actually covers the jobs you encounter day to day, rather than giving you twenty of the same blade you rarely use. Eight different blade types across wood, metal and plastic cutting, all in universal T-shank format so they fit the vast majority of jigsaws on site. High Carbon Steel for the wood blades, HSS where the metal cutting demands it. Sensible quantities of each type, not a token one of everything.
The set follows Bosch T-shank references, which is about as universal a standard as you’ll find in the trade. T111C for general wood cutting, T144D for faster aggressive cuts through timber, T101B for clean cuts in wood, T101D for hardwoods, T101BR for reverse-tooth cuts that reduce splintering on finished surfaces. On the metal side, T119BO handles non-ferrous and thin sheet, while T118A and T118B cover mild steel and harder metals at different tooth pitches. Between them you have most situations covered without rooting through a drawer full of loose blades.
What the Mixed Jigsaw Blade Set Covers
The blade lengths sit at either 100mm or 76mm depending on type, which suits most cutting depths for sheet materials, timber, pipework and light metalwork. The shorter 76mm blades are particularly handy in tighter spaces where a full-length blade would foul on the material or the jigsaw shoe. Having both lengths in one set means you are not caught out when the job requires a bit of finesse rather than brute reach.
Blade Types and Quantities
T111C 100mm (x2), T144D 100mm (x2), T101B 100mm (x4), T101D 100mm (x2), T101BR 100mm (x2), T119BO 76mm (x2), T118A 76mm (x4), T118B 76mm (x2). The quantities reflect actual usage patterns reasonably well. T101B and T118A get the higher counts because they are the workhorse cuts you reach for most often.
At this price, keeping a set in the van as backup makes sense. Blades get left on site, snapped, or borrowed and never returned. This mixed jigsaw blade set gives you a practical spread without committing to bulk packs of individual types you may not need for months.
Pro Tip: When cutting melamine or veneered panels, fit the T101BR reverse-tooth blade and cut with the finished face down: the upward cutting action of a standard blade tears the surface, whereas the reverse tooth cuts cleanly on the underside where it matters.
This set is suited to general construction, joinery, shopfitting, plumbing, and electrical first-fix work where you cut across multiple materials in a single day. Timber framing, MDF, plywood, hardwood, aluminium sheet, mild steel tube and plastic pipe all fall within range depending on which blade you select. Roofers, joiners, multi-trade workers and maintenance engineers will find a blade in here for most tasks they come across.
Best For
- General timber and sheet material cutting
- Metal cutting in mild steel and non-ferrous
- Plastic and composite materials
- Clean finish cuts on veneered or melamine surfaces
- Multi-trade and maintenance work
Compatible With
- All universal T-shank jigsaws
- Bosch T-shank compatible machines
- Makita, DeWalt, Milwaukee, Festool and most major brands
- Corded and cordless jigsaws
Key Specifications
- 20 blades across 8 types
- Blade lengths: 76mm and 100mm
- Materials: High Carbon Steel and HSS
- Shank: Universal T-shank
- Bosch equivalent references: T111C, T144D, T101B, T101D, T101BR, T119BO, T118A, T118B
Not suitable for: Not designed for cutting stainless steel, hardened steel, or ceramic tile. The HSS blades will handle mild steel and aluminium but will blunt quickly on hardened or abrasion-resistant materials.
Select the blade appropriate for your material and cut direction before starting. Fit the T-shank blade into the jigsaw without tools, ensuring the shank is fully seated and locked. Set the orbital action on the jigsaw to suit the material: higher orbital settings for fast timber cuts, zero or low orbital for metal and fine work.
Let the blade reach full speed before entering the cut. Feed the saw steadily without forcing it. On finished surfaces, mark your line clearly and use masking tape along the cut to reduce breakout further. Blades in this set are consumables and will dull with use, particularly on metal. Swap blades when the cut starts to labour rather than pushing a dull blade harder.
- Identify the material and select the appropriate blade type using the Bosch reference guide
- Insert the T-shank blade into the jigsaw clamp and confirm it is fully locked
- Set orbital action: higher for timber, low or zero for metal and plastics
- Apply masking tape along the cut line on finished surfaces to minimise breakout
- Start the saw and allow the blade to reach full speed before making contact with the material
- Feed the saw steadily along the cut line without forcing the pace
- Replace the blade when cutting effort increases or the cut quality deteriorates
Will these blades fit my jigsaw?
All blades in this set use the universal T-shank fitting, which is compatible with the vast majority of jigsaws sold in the UK, including Bosch, Makita, DeWalt, Milwaukee and Festool. If your jigsaw accepts T-shank blades, these will fit. Older machines with barrel or U-shank fittings are the exception and will not be compatible.
Which blade should I use for cutting MDF or plywood?
The T101B (x4 in the set) is your standard choice for clean cuts in MDF, plywood and general softwood. For a finer finish with less breakout on the top face, use the T101BR reverse-tooth blade and cut with the good face down. For faster, rougher cuts through thick timber, the T144D will move more quickly but leaves a coarser edge.
The wood-cutting blades in this set are manufactured from High Carbon Steel, which provides good edge retention in timber, MDF and plastics without being brittle. The metal-cutting blades use High Speed Steel construction, giving the tooth hardness needed to cut mild steel and non-ferrous metals without the teeth rolling over immediately. All blades use the universal T-shank profile, ground to standard tolerances for secure fitment across compatible machines.
