HCS jigsaw blades with a Tungsten Carbide Tip cutting edge, designed for cutting plasterboard, cement board and glass fibre. The HCS body stays strong at lower temperatures and keeps the blade flexible without sacrificing edge life.
The T341HM HCS plasterboard jigsaw blades are built for the kind of cutting work that chews through ordinary blades fast. Plasterboard is easy enough, but cement board and glass fibre have a habit of blunting standard HCS teeth before you’re halfway through a job. These blades deal with that by combining a high carbon steel body with a Tungsten Carbide Tip cutting edge, so you get the flexibility of HCS without the edge wearing out every five minutes.
The 132mm blade length suits most standard jigsaws and gives you enough reach for full-depth cuts through single and double-layer boards. The coarse cut profile is exactly what you want here. Tight, fine teeth clog with plasterboard dust and slow you down. A coarse tooth pattern clears the waste quickly and keeps the cut moving without binding.
Where T341HM Jigsaw Blades Come Into Their Own
HCS as a body material has a specific advantage in cold conditions. On a site in January with the heating not yet running, standard blades can become brittle and snap mid-cut. The high carbon steel in these stays tough at lower temperatures, which matters more than most people realise until they’ve had a blade go on them.
The TCT cutting edge is the other key feature. Tungsten carbide holds its edge against abrasive materials far longer than standard HCS teeth. Cement board and fibre cement sheeting are essentially abrasive by nature, and they’ll destroy a plain HCS blade surprisingly quickly. The TCT tip on the T341HM means you get significantly more cuts per blade, which adds up over the course of a fit-out or boarding job.
Blade Compatibility
These are T-shank blades, which is the universal fitting used by the vast majority of modern jigsaws. If your saw takes a T-shank, these will drop straight in. They come in a pack of five, which is a sensible quantity for a boarding job rather than leaving you short or overbuying on a single run.
Pro Tip: When cutting cement board, let the jigsaw do the work at its own pace. Forcing the feed rate through abrasive sheet material overloads the TCT tips and shortens blade life considerably.
