Reciprocating Saw Blades – Wood with Nails Cutting – Bi-Metal – S610VF

150mm bi-metal reciprocating saw blade designed for cutting wood with embedded nails. HCS body with HSS cutting edge gives you durability and flex in one blade. Shatter-resistant construction keeps the edge sharp through tough, mixed-material cuts.

The S610VF bi-metal reciprocating saw blade is built specifically for one of the messiest jobs on site: cutting through timber that has nails in it. Demolition, second-fix strip-outs, cutting studwork, ripping out old joinery — wherever you are likely to hit fixings mid-cut, this blade is designed to keep going rather than give up. At 150mm, it covers most general recip saw work without being unwieldy.

Bi-metal construction is what makes it work. The body is high carbon steel, which gives the blade enough flex to handle the movement and vibration you get during aggressive cuts without snapping. The cutting edge is high speed steel, which is significantly harder and holds its sharpness far longer than a standard HCS blade would under the same conditions. You get the best of both materials in a single blade, which is why bi-metal has become the standard choice for tradespeople who cut mixed materials regularly.

Where the S610VF Bi-Metal Reciprocating Saw Blade Earns Its Keep

This is not a blade you reach for when cutting clean softwood on a bench. It is the one you grab when you are pulling apart a st partition, cutting through old floorboards with screws buried in them, or demolishing a frame where you genuinely have no idea what fixings are still in there. The shatter-resistant design matters in those situations. A blade that chips or cracks mid-cut is a safety issue as much as a performance one.

Extended service life is a straightforward benefit here. Because the HSS cutting edge holds its shape longer, you go through fewer blades per job. On a longer demolition project, that adds up. Buying a pack of five rather than burning through individual blades quickly is where the value becomes obvious.

Compatibility

The S610VF uses a standard universal shank fitting, so it will fit the vast majority of reciprocating and sabre saws on the market without any adapters or faff.

Pro Tip: When cutting through nail-embedded timber, slow your stroke speed slightly and let the blade do the work: forcing the pace through fixings is the quickest way to blunt even a bi-metal edge prematurely.
