TiMCO fine thread collated drywall screws are designed for fast, consistent plasterboard fixing using an auto-feed screwdriver. The fine thread profile cuts cleanly into metal stud and track systems without stripping, giving a secure, flush fix every time. Available in seven lengths from 3.5 x 25mm through to 3.5 x 55mm, these screws cover the full range of standard drywall build-ups from single-layer boarding right through to double-layer or acoustic systems.
Collated screws exist for one reason: speed. Feeding automatically through the magazine means no fumbling for individual screws, no dropped fixings, and no interruptions to rhythm on a busy boarding run. On a full-day fix-out, that adds up. TiMCO have been supplying trade fixings for years and these screws are consistent in head profile, strip tape feed, and zinc coating quality, which matters when you are running thousands of screws through a gun in a day.
The zinc coating provides adequate corrosion resistance for internal drylining applications. These are not outdoor screws and are not intended to be, but for interior metal stud partitions and ceiling grids, the coating holds up without issue.
Where Fine Thread Collated Drywall Screws Get Used
Fine thread screws are the correct choice wherever you are fixing plasterboard into metal. The fine thread engages with the thin gauge steel of standard metal stud and track sections cleanly, without the need to pre-drill. Coarse thread drywall screws are for timber, and mixing the two up is the kind of mistake you only make once, usually after spending ten minutes wondering why your fix feels sponpy. Fine thread into metal: that is the pairing.
Choosing the Right Length
For single-layer 12.5mm board onto standard metal stud, 3.5 x 25mm or 3.5 x 32mm will do the job cleanly. Moving to 15mm board or thicker acoustic specifications, step up to 35mm or 38mm. Double-boarding on walls or ceilings will typically call for 50mm or 55mm to achieve sufficient thread engagement into the steel section. If you are unsure, the general rule is that the screw should penetrate the metal frame by at least 10mm after passing through all the board layers.
Supplied in boxes of 1000, these fine thread collated drywall screws are priced for trade volumes. For larger site requirements, bulk pricing is available, so get in touch before placing a big order and it is worth a conversation.
Pro Tip: Always uncoil your auto-feed magazine lead fully before starting a run, and check that the depth-stop nose piece is set correctly on a test board first, as a slightly shallow setting will leave raised heads that need remedying before skim coat.
