Everbuild 502 wood adhesive is a high-quality, resin-based PVA wood glue that handles pretty much every timber bonding job you are likely to throw at it. It meets the EN 204 D3 classification, which means it is rated for load-bearing applications in high-humidity environments, internal joinery, and external use where the joint is not continuously submerged. If you are buying a wood glue for general site and workshop use, D3 is the rating worth having.
The bond it produces is genuinely strong. Once cured, the glued joint is typically harder than the surrounding timber, which means if something breaks, it usually will not be where you glued it. Impact resistance is good too, which matters in furniture and fitted joinery where things take knocks over time. Initial set is around 10 minutes, so you get a reasonable working window without having to hold things together for half an hour waiting for something to happen.
It dries clear, which is worth noting for any visible joinery work. No yellowing, no residue that shows through a finish. Wipe off the squeeze-out while it is still wet and you are sorted.
Where Everbuild 502 Wood Adhesive Gets Used
This glue works for a wide range of applications: cabinet making, general joinery, door and window frame assembly, worktop fitting, stair repairs and furniture builds. It handles both softwood and hardwood without any adjustment to technique. Because it conforms to BS 14256 for creep resistance as well as EN 204 D3, it is appropriate for structural timber applications where long-term stability under load actually matters.
Internal and External Use
The D3 rating gives you the flexibility to use Everbuild 502 on external joinery provided the joint itself is not sitting in standing water. Garden furniture, exterior doors, window boards and outdoor timber structures are all within scope. Just make sure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust or grease before you apply it.
Available in 1 litre and 5 litre sizes, with the 5 litre being the obvious choice for workshop use or anyone gluing up multiple jobs at once.
Pro Tip: When clamping up, apply the glue to both faces for a stronger bond, not just one, and make sure your clamp pressure is even so the joint does not creep out of square during the set.
