Clean the outside of the pipe and the inside of the socket end with wire wool or a pipe cleaning brush until the copper is bright. Apply a thin, even coat of flux to both surfaces. Push the fitting onto the pipe, heat evenly with a blowtorch until the flux begins to bubble, then touch solder to the joint edge and allow it to draw in. Let the joint cool naturally before disturbing it.
The spigot end connects directly into the socket of another fitting, so treat it the same way as you would a pipe end. Clean it, flux it and let the heat do the work. Avoid overheating, which burns off the flux and leads to voids in the joint.
Cut pipe square and remove any burr from the end with a pipe reamer or file
