The end feed street elbow is one of those fittings that earns its keep the moment you’re working in a tight spot. Where a standard elbow needs two sockets and a short pipe nipple to change direction, the street elbow has one socket end and one plain spigot end, letting you connect directly into another fitting without the extra piece of copper in between. Less fuss, less solder, less time. Available in 15mm, 22mm and 28mm to cover the most common domestic and light commercial pipework sizes.

These fittings carry WRAS approval, which means they meet the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme requirements for use in drinking water systems. That matters on jobs where sign-off is required, or where a client or inspector is going to ask. It’s not something to overlook on potable water installations.

Where End Feed Street Elbows Get Used

End feed fittings require you to apply solder yourself, which gives you full control over the joint and suits plumbers who prefer that over Yorkshire-style pre-soldered fittings. Clean the pipe, flux it, heat it evenly and feed the solder in. Done properly, an end feed joint is as reliable as anything else on the market.

The street elbow configuration is particularly handy when connecting directly to valves, check valves, or compression tees where space behind the fitting is restricted. You get the 90-degree change of direction without needing to plan in an extra section of pipe. Tight airing cupboards, under-sink runs and boiler connections are where this fitting quietly solves problems every day.

Available in box quantities of 10 or 25, so whether you’re topping up the van or stocking a larger job, there’s a sensible option either way.

Pro Tip: Always clean back to bright copper and apply flux right before heating, not minutes earlier, as flux left to oxidise on the surface before you torch it will give you a dry, suspect joint.
