FIRMAHOLD 18g brad nails are straight-collated 18 gauge nails designed for internal trim work where a clean, concealed finish matters. The T-head profile sits flush or below the surface, so there is no visible nail head once the fix is made. Available in sizes from 16mm to 50mm and in either galvanised or stainless steel, these nails cover most everyday trim applications as well as work in environments where corrosion is a concern.

The straight collation format is compatible with both cordless and pneumatic brad nailers, so whether you are on site with a battery-powered tool or running a compressor in a workshop, these nails will feed reliably. The shank geometry is engineered for low penetration resistance, which means the tool drives cleanly without splitting delicate timber sections — useful when you are fixing thin architrave or lightweight beading where a heavier fastener would cause damage.

Where FIRMAHOLD 18g Brad Nails Perform Best

These are finishing nails, and they are made for the jobs where the surface needs to look right when you are done. Skirting boards, door architrave, window boards, tongue and groove panelling, cabinet trim, and lightweight mouldings are all well within their range. The range of lengths gives you the flexibility to match the nail to the material thickness and the substrate behind it, without having to stock multiple nail types from different brands.

Galvanised or Stainless Steel

For standard interior work, galvanised is the practical choice. Where the timber has natural corrosive properties, such as green oak or cedar, or where the environment involves moisture or humidity, stainless steel A2-304 is the right option. Using galvanised nails in reactive timbers can lead to staining and corrosion over time, which is not a conversation you want to have with a client six months after the job is finished.

A box of 5000 FIRMAHOLD 18g brad nails is a sensible trade quantity for anyone doing regular trim and finishing work. Enough to get through a decent run of jobs without ordering again every other week.

Pro Tip: When fixing into dense hardwood trim, a light pilot pass with a lower drive depth setting first will help prevent the T-head from pulling through on thinner sections, especially on anything under 12mm thick.
