These 75 x 533mm sanding belts are made from aluminium oxide abrasive grain, resin bonded onto an X-weight backing cloth. The overlap joint includes an extra top-skive, which keeps the belt running smoothly over the joint and reduces the chatter you get with cheaper belts that have a blunter seam. Small detail, noticeable difference when you’re trying to get a clean finish. Available in 40g, 60g, 80g and 120g, these 533mm sanding belts cover the full range from heavy stock removal down to fine finishing work.

Aluminium oxide is the workhorse of abrasive materials. It cuts fast, wears evenly, and holds up well across a wide range of surfaces. It’s not the flashiest abrasive on the market, but it does the job consistently across timber, painted surfaces, varnish, plaster, and light metalwork without falling apart halfway through the task.

What These 75 x 533mm Sanding Belts Are Used For

The 40g is your go-to for stripping back heavy material quickly, whether that’s thick paint, rough timber, or a surface that needs significant flattening before anything finer goes near it. Move up to 60g or 80g for general-purpose shaping and smoothing, and the 120g is where you finish up before priming or applying a coating. Most jobs will run through at least two or three grits in sequence, so having a pack of each on the van makes sense.

These belts fit all standard 75 x 533mm belt sanders, so there’s no compatibility headache. Sold in packs of 10 per grit, you get enough to get through a proper job without running out at an inconvenient moment, which belt sanders have a habit of causing.

Pro Tip: Always sand through the grits in sequence rather than jumping from 40g straight to 120g, the scratch pattern left by coarse grit takes longer to remove than people expect and will show through any finish.
