Auger Bit Extension – 300mm

An auger bit extension does one job, and it does it well: it gets your auger bit deeper into the material when the standard bit length won’t reach. Whether you’re drilling through thick timber plates, deep joists, or stacked structural members, 300mm of extra reach makes a real difference on site. This extension is built for hexagon shank auger bits and fits drills from 22mm and above, with an 11.0mm hex body profile that locks the bit in place cleanly.

The body is manufactured from fully-hardened high-grade carbon steel, which matters when you’re applying torque through a long extension. A weaker material would flex or wear at the socket over time, especially on repeated heavy drilling. The hex socket screw clamps the auger bit firmly into the extension so there’s no slipping mid-hole, which is exactly what you don’t want when you’re halfway through a 50mm joist.

Where Auger Bit Extensions Are Used

Timber frame work is the obvious application: drilling through wall plates, rafters, or floor joists where the material depth exceeds your standard bit reach. The same goes for green oak construction, where members are often considerably thicker than in standard softwood builds. Electricians and plumbers also rely on auger extensions regularly when chasing cable or pipework routes through multiple timbers in a single pass.

What the 300mm Length Gets You

The 300mm overall length gives a practical working extension that suits most single-pass through-drilling jobs without becoming unwieldy. It’s long enough to reach through a double-stud wall or a deep floor cassette, but short enough that the drill chuck isn’t swinging around in tight spaces. If you need more reach still, two extensions can be used together on compatible setups.
