Bahco MTS 5m tape measure with reversible magnetic tip, stainless steel blade and automatic locking. Non-reflective NY-coat finish with dual-sided graduations. Accuracy Class II. Built for site use.
The Bahco MTS is a magnetic tape measure built for tradespeople who measure all day and need a tape that keeps up. The reversible magnetic tip means you can pull to a metal surface, hold a mark, or flip the tip to suit your measuring style — a small detail that genuinely saves time on the job. Whether you’re framing, fitting, or fixing, having that tip snap to a steel stud or joist edge makes single-handed measuring a realistic option rather than a juggling act.
The blade is high-grade stainless steel with de-burred edges, which matters more than it sounds. Standard blades can crack painted surfaces on contact or leave sharp burrs that catch your fingers after a few weeks of use. The Bahco MTS avoids both problems. The blade is also coated with a DURA NY-coat finish, which keeps reflections down and protects the printed graduations from fading. Measurements are printed on both sides of the blade, so you’re reading the right way up regardless of which direction you’re pulling.
Why the Bahco MTS Magnetic Tape Measure Holds Up on Site
The casing is rubberised for grip and impact absorption — because tapes get dropped, and a tape measure that shatters on its third fall isn’t saving anyone money. The automatic blade lock means the blade stays where you set it without having to fumble with a manual slider, and the belt clip and button grip are built in for carrying convenience.
One more thing worth noting: the stainless steel blade can be fully immersed in water without damage. For groundworkers, landscapers, or anyone measuring in wet conditions, that matters. Most tapes don’t survive a puddle. This one does.
Accuracy Class II, 5m length, 25mm blade width.
Pro Tip: When using the magnetic tip against a steel surface, check the tip is fully seated flush before pulling your measurement, as even a slight angle on the magnet can introduce a couple of millimetres of error over longer pulls.
