These green coated decking screws are built for external timber work where corrosion resistance and clean fixing matter. The high grade steel core provides the strength, while the green coating protects against moisture and weathering — essential for any decking project that needs to last more than a couple of summers.

The sharp point and aggressive thread pull into softwood decking boards without the need for pilot holes in most cases. A reduced shank below the head means the screw draws timber tight without splitting, even close to board edges where lesser screws would cause problems. The bugle head countersinks itself neatly into the timber surface, leaving a clean finish that does not catch bare feet or snag mop heads.

Why these screws work for decking

Decking takes punishment that interior fixings never see. Rain, frost, sun, foot traffic and the occasional barbecue mishap all test the connection between board and joist. These screws are coated specifically for that environment. The green finish is not just cosmetic — it provides a barrier against the tannic acids in treated timber that can corrode unprotected steel surprisingly quickly.

Available in lengths from 50mm for standard 32mm boards through to 100mm for heavier structural work, there is a size here for most decking jobs. The 4.5mm gauge handles typical softwood decking, while the 5.0 x 100mm option suits thicker boards or applications where you need extra bite into the joist.

Box quantities that suit the job

Choose from boxes of 100 for smaller projects and repairs, or 200 for new builds and larger areas. At trade prices, buying the bigger box usually makes sense — you will use them eventually, and having spares beats a trip back to the merchant mid-job.

Whether you are laying a new garden deck, replacing rotten boards, or fixing down a commercial walkway, these screws deliver the holding power and weather resistance the job demands. No fancy marketing required — just screws that do the work.

Pro Tip: Run a chalk line across your joists before fixing to keep screw lines straight. Wonky screw heads are the first thing customers notice on a finished deck.
