Rectorseal Nokorode flux paste has been a go-to for plumbers and heating engineers for decades, and there is a reason it keeps showing up on site. It does two jobs at once: cleaning the joint surface and preparing it for solder, without needing a separate cleaning compound. If you have ever wasted time wire-wooling a joint only to bodge the flux step, this is the product that removes that second point of failure.

The formula is lead-free and acid-free, which matters more than people sometimes realise. Safe for use on potable water systems, it meets the requirements for drinking water pipework without any compromise on performance. The special oil base is what sets it apart from cheaper alternatives. Where standard flux burns off quickly under heat and leaves the joint exposed, Nokorode’s oil base stays active longer and actively protects the solder joint against corrosive attack after the work is done.

Where Rectorseal Nokorode Flux Paste Gets Used

The consistency of the paste is worth mentioning. It flows smoothly into tight fittings and small cavities, which is exactly what you want when you are soldering 15mm copper in a confined space with limited torch access. It is not runny enough to drip and make a mess, but thin enough to coat evenly without needing to work it in aggressively.

Nokorode paste flux works across the most common solder alloys you will encounter: 95/5 lead-free solder, 60/40, 50/50, and 40/60 tin-lead mixes. That makes it genuinely multipurpose across different job types, from domestic plumbing and heating installs to light industrial pipework. One tub in the toolbox handles most situations.

Lead-Free for Potable Water

With water regulations tightening up, the fact that this is fully lead-free and acid-free means you are not cutting corners on compliance. Use it on drinking water feeds without a second thought. The flux residue is also relatively straightforward to clean off after soldering, which keeps joints looking tidy and reduces the risk of long-term corrosion from flux left sitting on copper.

Available in 80g, 225g, 227g and 454g sizes, so you can pick up a small tub for a one-off job or stock up properly if you are running it through installations regularly. The 454g tub in particular makes sense for anyone doing a lot of copper work and not wanting to run out mid-job on a Friday afternoon.

Pro Tip: Apply the flux sparingly and evenly around the full circumference of the fitting before heating. Too much flux does not improve the joint, it just burns off and leaves residue that can cause long-term pitting on copper if not cleaned off.
