Firmahold galvanised angled brad nails are a second fix staple for carpenters and joiners who want clean, reliable results without messing around with gas cartridges. These 16 gauge brads are designed for use in cordless battery-powered nailers and pneumatic brad guns, and the angled collation means you can get into tight corners where a straight nailer simply won’t reach. If you’ve ever tried to nail an architrave in a narrow doorway with the wrong tool, you’ll know exactly why the angle matters.

The galvanised coating gives each nail a solid level of corrosion resistance, making these a sensible choice anywhere moisture might be a concern: unheated outbuildings, conservatories, or timber behind external cladding. They are not a substitute for stainless or hot-dipped nails in fully exposed conditions, but for the vast majority of interior and semi-protected second fix work, galvanised is the right spec.

Seven Sizes to Cover Every Second Fix Application

Firmahold angled brad nails are available in seven lengths from 19mm through to 64mm. The 19mm and 25mm sizes suit lighter work such as beading, cover strips, and thin mouldings. The 32mm and 38mm nails are the go-to for skirting boards and architraves. The longer 45mm, 50mm, and 64mm brads work well where you need more penetration, particularly on thicker timber sections or when fixing through a layer of plasterboard into studwork.

Compatibility with Second Fix Nailers

These angled brads are compatible with Firmahold cordless and pneumatic second fix nailers, as well as Paslode IM65A and similar angled brad nailer formats. The 16 gauge wire diameter and angled collation are standard across the range. Always check your nailer’s accepted nail lengths and collation angle before ordering, particularly if you are using a brand other than Firmahold. Most angled second fix nailers will accept these without issue, but a quick check beats finding out on site.

No gas is required. These galvanised angled brad nails are for pneumatic and battery-powered tools only. If you use a gas-powered nailer, Firmahold supplies combined nail and gas packs separately. The 2000-nail box count keeps you loaded and moving on site without constant interruptions to restock the magazine.

Pro Tip: For skirting boards on stud walls, use the 38mm length to punch through the board face and into the stud without the risk of the nail pulling through under seasonal timber movement.
