Impact Rated Magnetic Bit Holder – 1/4″ x 60mm

£4.33£5.20 EX VATINC VAT

A 1/4″ hex magnetic bit holder built for impact drivers. The torsion zone absorbs the shock of impact driving, so your bits stay seated and your holder stays in one piece. Sixty millimetres long for improved access in tight spots.

The 60mm impact magnetic bit holder is one of those things you don’t think about until a cheaper one shatters mid-job. This holder is rated for impact driver use, which matters more than it sounds. Standard bit holders are not designed for the hammering rotational force an impact driver puts out. Run one for long enough and it’ll either crack, strip the hex shank, or start dropping bits at inconvenient moments. Usually all three.

This one handles it properly. The key feature is the torsion zone, a section of the shank engineered to flex slightly under impact load rather than resist it rigidly. That flex absorbs the shock energy that would otherwise crack a standard holder straight through. It’s the same principle used in torsion-zone screwdriver bits — the bit bends a little so it doesn’t break. Simple idea, and it works.

The magnetic tip holds bits firmly during positioning, which is useful when you’re working overhead, at an angle, or anywhere you’d rather not spend time chasing a lost Pozi tip across a floor. The 1/4″ hex shank fits any standard impact driver, combi drill, or screwgun with a quick-change chuck. No adaptor needed, no faff.

Why the 60mm Length Makes a Difference

At 60mm, this impact magnetic bit holder gives you noticeably more reach than a standard 50mm or shorter holder. That extra length is useful when you’re driving into recessed fixings, getting into tight cabinet spaces, or just trying to keep your knuckles away from the workpiece. Not always necessary, but when you need it, you really need it — and having the longer holder already on the driver saves swapping mid-run.

For anyone driving volume screws — decking, sheet material, timber frame — the combination of impact rating, magnetic retention, and the 60mm reach makes for a noticeably smoother workflow. Bits load cleanly, seat firmly, and stay put. The holder takes the punishment the driver dishes out rather than passing it straight through to the bit tip, which also helps your bits last longer.

Sold individually, so it’s straightforward to grab a few and keep spares in the bag. At this price point, having a backup on site costs less than the time spent hunting for a replacement mid-job.

Pro Tip: If your screwdriver bits are snapping at the tip rather than wearing down gradually, the holder is probably transmitting too much impact energy directly to the bit — switch to a proper torsion-zone holder and you will get significantly more life out of each bit.
