The Timloc Telescopic Underfloor Vent is a well-established solution for ventilating the void beneath suspended ground floors. Where older builds relied on fixed-size airbricks that never quite matched the actual wall thickness, this telescopic design adjusts to suit anywhere between 5 and 7 brick courses — that’s 375mm to 525mm — so you’re not cutting corners or stuffing the gap with filler. It requires a minimum cavity width of 50mm, which covers the vast majority of standard cavity wall construction.

Underfloor ventilation is not optional. Without adequate airflow beneath a suspended timber floor, you get moisture build-up, and moisture build-up leads to rot. Building regulations exist for a reason, and the Timloc telescopic vent is designed to help you meet them without a complicated install. The telescopic body slides to the exact wall thickness, locks in place, and the vent face sits flush to the outer leaf. Tidy, functional, job done.

Where Timloc Telescopic Underfloor Vents Get Used

These vents are most commonly fitted during new build or renovation work where suspended timber ground floors are present. They’re also used in retrofit situations where existing airbricks have failed, blocked up, or simply don’t suit the wall thickness. Because the body adjusts, they’re equally at home in older walls with slightly irregular dimensions — a situation any bricklayer who’s worked on Victorian terraces will recognise immediately.

Colour Options

The Timloc telescopic underfloor vent is available in Black, Blue and Black, Brown, Buff, Clear, Grey, Terracotta, and White. That range covers most common brick and block colours, so there’s no excuse for an airbrick that looks like it was fitted by someone with their eyes closed.

Pro Tip: When fitting in a cavity wall, make sure the telescopic sleeve extends fully to bridge the cavity and bear on both leaves — a vent that only contacts the outer leaf can work loose over time as the wall moves.
