Viper A2 stainless steel collated framing gun nails are made for structural framing work where standard galvanised nails simply won’t do. Available in a box of 1100 nails with gas included, these are the right choice when the job involves external exposure, treated timber, green oak, or any environment where corrosion is a genuine concern. As collated framing gun nails go, these tick the boxes that building regulations actually require.
The nails are manufactured from A2 stainless steel, which gives them a significantly higher level of corrosion resistance than hot-dipped galvanised alternatives. That matters in Service Class 3 environments, coastal locations, and anywhere the base material itself is corrosive. Green oak is a classic example: the tannins in unseasoned oak will attack standard fixings over time, making stainless steel the correct and compliant choice.
What Makes These Viper Collated Framing Nails Worth Using
The 34° collation angle suits a wide range of framing nailers, and the paper strip collation keeps jam rates low compared to plastic alternatives. The clipped head design fits more nails per strip, which means less time reloading the tool and more time actually nailing. On a big framing job, that adds up.
The ring shank profile gives these nails a strong mechanical grip once driven, resisting pull-through far better than smooth shank fixings. Combined with the diamond point for clean, accurate penetration, these are nails that go in right first time and stay put. They conform to Eurocode 5, which is the structural timber design standard, and are rated to Service Class 3. That is the highest exposure category, covering permanently exposed external conditions.
Available Sizes
Viper stainless steel collated framing gun nails are available in four sizes: 50mm x 2.8mm, 63mm x 2.8mm, 75mm x 3.1mm, and 90mm x 3.1mm. Select the size to suit your timber section and structural requirement. Each box contains 1100 nails and a gas cell, so you have everything needed to get straight to work.
Pro Tip: When nailing into green oak, always use A2 stainless steel as a minimum: the tannins in unseasoned oak are aggressive enough to cause visible corrosion on galvanised fixings within months, which can compromise both appearance and structural integrity.
