Chrome Talon pipe cover collars do one job, and they do it well. Where a pipe disappears through a wall, floor or ceiling, you’re left with a hole that’s rarely tidy. Plaster gets chipped, tiles get drilled slightly too big, or the original collar gets lost somewhere between the van and the job. These snap into place and nobody asks questions. The chrome ABS effect finish looks the part in kitchens, bathrooms and anywhere else a white collar would feel a bit too utilitarian.

Talon manufacture these as a single-piece collar, which keeps installation quick. No assembly, no fidgeting with two halves — just slide it over the pipe before you fix the pipe in place, or use one that opens if you’re retro-fitting. The size range runs from 8mm up to 110mm, so you’re covered whether you’re finishing off a small microbore heating pipe or a larger waste run through a solid floor.

Where Talon Chrome Pipe Cover Collars Are Used

These are a standard finish item on heating and plumbing installations where a professional result is expected. Chrome collars suit central heating pipework in living rooms and hallways, kitchen installations where you want something that doesn’t stand out, and bathroom plumbing where the pipe entry point is visible. Radiator pipework rising through wooden floors is probably the most common application — the collar sits flat against the floor and covers the gap around the pipe cleanly.

Material and Build

Made from high grade polypropylene with a chrome ABS effect finish, these are UK manufactured. Polypropylene handles heat without distorting, which matters when you’re fitting collars close to pipework that cycles between hot and cold regularly. The chrome finish won’t corrode in a damp environment, though it’s worth noting these are a decorative item rather than a structural fixing. They cover the gap — they’re not there to support anything.

At this price point, keeping a few of each common size in the van costs next to nothing and saves the awkward conversation with a customer about the unfinished gap around their new radiator pipes. Stock them in 15mm and 22mm at a minimum, and you’ll use them on almost every heating job.

Pro Tip: Slide the collar onto the pipe before you connect fittings at either end — retrofitting over an already-plumbed pipe is possible but awkward, and you'll lose five minutes you didn't budget for.
