The end feed bent tap connector is one of those fittings that earns its keep on almost every bathroom or kitchen job. It bridges the gap between your copper supply pipe and the threaded tail of a tap, doing it at a 90-degree angle so you can make a neat, compact connection without having to bend pipe awkwardly into position. Available in 15mm x 1/2″ and 22mm x 3/4″ to suit most common installations, and fully WRAS approved, meaning they meet Water Regulations Advisory Scheme requirements for use on potable water systems in the UK.

The end feed design means you solder the fitting directly onto the copper pipe yourself. There’s no pre-loaded solder ring to rely on, which gives you complete control over the joint quality. Get your flux right, heat it evenly, feed in your solder, and you end up with a clean, leak-free joint that will outlast the tap it’s serving by some margin. These fittings work with standard copper tube to EN1057, which covers the vast majority of domestic and light commercial pipework.

Where End Feed Bent Tap Connectors Are Used

Under-sink installations are the obvious home for this fitting, where the supply pipes rise vertically and need to turn through 90 degrees to meet the tap tail. Basin connections work the same way. The bent profile keeps everything tidy in a confined space, which matters when you’re trying to fit in alongside a waste trap, a flexible hose, and whatever the previous plumber left behind.

The 15mm x 1/2″ size handles most domestic tap connections without any fuss. The 22mm x 3/4″ version comes into its own on larger basin taps, bath fillers, or any fitting with a 3/4″ BSP threaded tail where the supply is run in 22mm copper. Both sizes share the same end feed principle, so if you’re comfortable with one, you’re comfortable with both.

WRAS approval matters here because water companies and building inspectors take potable water fittings seriously. Using approved components keeps your work compliant and protects against comebacks down the line. It’s not just a sticker on the box, it means the materials and design have been independently assessed for use in drinking water systems.

Pro Tip: Always clean the pipe end and the fitting socket with emery cloth before fluxing. End feed joints fail most often from a bit of oxidation or grease that was missed in preparation, not from bad soldering technique.
