Bond It PU30 wood glue is a one-part, moisture cure polyurethane adhesive formulated specifically for bonding timber in demanding conditions. Whether you are jointing structural beams, assembling outdoor furniture, or laminating boards, the PU30 delivers a genuinely waterproof bond that holds up where most wood glues fall short. It meets BS EN 204 Class D4, the highest durability classification for wood adhesives, which tells you it has been tested against prolonged water exposure and not just the occasional splash.

One-part means no mixing, no waste, and no catching the pot time out wrong on a cold morning. The moisture in the timber and surrounding air triggers the cure, so you just apply, clamp, and get on with the next job. Setting begins within 30 minutes, which is fast enough to keep a production workflow moving without being so rapid that you are racing to get components aligned.

Where Bond It PU30 Wood Glue Gets Used

PU30 cures to a brown adhesive line, which blends naturally with most timber species. The foam-expanding characteristic of polyurethane adhesives means the glue actually fills minor surface irregularities as it cures, which is particularly useful on rough-sawn or slightly uneven mating faces. Just bear in mind that excess foam squeeze-out needs removing before it fully sets, because once it hardens it is harder to shift cleanly.

Chemical and Weather Resistance

Resistance to acids, chemicals, and seawater means the Bond It PU30 is a reasonable choice for marine joinery and exterior structures exposed to harsh environments. It is solvent-free, which makes it slightly easier to work with in enclosed spaces compared to older-generation PU adhesives. Internal or external, this glue covers both without needing separate products on the van.

For any tradesperson regularly working with timber, having a D4-rated one-part PU adhesive in the bag is just sensible. It handles the jobs that ordinary PVA simply is not rated for.

Pro Tip: Apply PU30 to one surface only and lightly dampen the other face with water before clamping, this activates the moisture cure faster and gives a more consistent bond, especially on very dry or kiln-dried timber.
