Zinc chemical anchor studs are the threaded rods you drop into a resin-filled hole to create a structural fixing in concrete, brick, or block. These come zinc and yellow passivated, which gives a meaningful step up in corrosion resistance over plain steel — useful in damp or exposed environments where bare fixings would start to deteriorate. Each stud arrives complete with a nut and washer, so there’s no scrambling around for matching hardware on site.
The chisel point at the business end is there for a reason. When you’re using chemical capsule systems, that point breaks through the glass capsule cleanly as you drive the stud in, mixing the resin and hardener without needing a separate tool. The hex insert at the top means you can drive the stud with a socket and run it to the correct torque without the whole rod spinning uselessly — a small detail that makes a real difference when you’re fifty holes deep and time is not on your side.
Where Zinc Chemical Anchor Studs Get Used
Chemical anchor studs like these are specified wherever a standard mechanical anchor won’t do the job — close to edges, in cracked concrete, or where the substrate is hollow or variable. They’re common in structural steelwork connections, balustrade fixing, machinery anchoring, and post base plates. The zinc passivation makes them a reasonable choice for outdoor applications, though for fully submerged or severely aggressive environments, stainless steel is the correct call.
Size Range
The range covers M8 x 110mm up to M24 x 300mm, which between them handle most typical structural and civil fixing requirements. Larger diameters come in smaller box quantities, which reflects the reality that you’re unlikely to need fifty M24 studs for a standard job. Pick the size that suits your resin anchor specification — the embedment depth and diameter must match the design requirement, not just whatever’s convenient.
Pro Tip: Always check that the drill bit diameter matches the stud diameter exactly as specified by the resin manufacturer, even a millimetre oversize on the bore can significantly reduce the pull-out value of the finished fixing.
