The end feed straight tap connector is one of those fittings you go through constantly on any plumbing job. Connecting copper pipe to a threaded fitting on a tap, valve or appliance, it does a straightforward job and it needs to do it reliably every time. These are WRAS approved, which matters if you are working on domestic water supplies or any installation where water quality standards apply.

End feed fittings work by soldering the copper pipe directly into the socket. There is no integral solder ring to fall back on, so the joint relies entirely on your technique and the flux and solder you bring to the job. That is not a drawback. For a competent plumber, end feed gives you a cleaner, more controlled joint and tends to be the go-to choice where quality and finish count. It also means you are not paying for solder you might not need.

End Feed Straight Tap Connector Sizes and Where They Fit

Three sizes are available: 15mm x 1/2″, 15mm x 3/4″ and 22mm x 3/4″. The 15mm x 1/2″ is the one you reach for most often, connecting standard 15mm copper to a 1/2″ BSP male thread on a kitchen or bathroom tap. The 15mm x 3/4″ and 22mm x 3/4″ versions cover larger valves, service connections and commercial fitouts where flow rates demand bigger pipework. Worth keeping a box of each on the van if you cover a range of work.

WRAS approval means the fittings are certified for use with wholesome drinking water in the UK. If you are working on properties that require compliance documentation, or you are specifying fittings for a client who wants everything signed off properly, these tick that box without any additional steps on your part.

Buying in Boxes of 10

These are sold in boxes of 10, which is a sensible quantity for trade use. You get enough to cover a multi-tap installation or a full bathroom without running short, and the per-unit cost at bulk works out considerably better than buying loose. A kitchen refit with four or five tap connections, a utility room, and a couple of isolating valves will eat through these quickly enough that buying by the box simply makes more sense.

If you need the end feed straight tap connector across multiple jobs or sites, the pricing here is structured for trade volume. Stock up, save the emergency merchant run, and get on with the work.

Pro Tip: Always use a good quality flux paste and keep your heat focused on the fitting body rather than the pipe, drawing the solder in cleanly rather than flooding the joint from outside.
