Supplied Hardener Quantities
The 1kg tin comes with one 20g tube of hardener, sufficient for the whole tin. The 5kg tin is supplied with three tubes: two 40g and one 20g. These are pre-measured to the correct ratio, so you are not left guessing at mix ratios on site. Use the grey liquid mortar in the quantities you need and store the rest with the remaining hardener clearly labelled.
Pro Tip: Once you crack open a tube of hardener and mix it in, the clock is running, so only combine what you can apply in one go rather than mixing the whole tin at once.

Prepare the area first. Remove any loose material, dust or debris from the crack or void. For anchoring applications, drill to the correct diameter and depth, then blow or brush out all dust from the hole before applying the mortar.
Measure out the correct proportion of hardener for the amount of resin you plan to use. The supplied tubes are pre-measured for the full tin, so if you are only using part of the pack, divide accordingly. Mix thoroughly until the colour is uniform throughout, then pour or work the grey liquid mortar into the repair area promptly. It sets quickly, so do not mix more than you can apply in one session.
Allow full cure before loading or painting. In colder conditions the set time will extend, so account for that on outdoor winter work.

Can Metoset liquid mortar be used outdoors?
Yes, it is suitable for both internal and external applications. Once cured, it has good physical resistance and will handle normal exposure to outdoor conditions. Cold weather will slow the set time, so allow extra curing time on outdoor jobs in winter.
How much hardener do I use if I only need part of the 5kg tin?
The hardener tubes supplied with the 5kg tin are pre-measured for the full quantity of resin. If you are only using a portion of the tin, divide the hardener proportionally. The 5kg tin comes with two 40g tubes and one 20g tube, giving you some flexibility to portion the job out across multiple sessions.
Is it paintable once cured?
Yes. Once the mortar has fully cured you can paint directly over it. No specialist primer is required, which keeps it straightforward within a normal decorating or finishing sequence.
