Metolux Metoset is a two-part polyester grey liquid mortar designed for crack repair, cavity filling, and anchoring threaded rod or rebar into concrete, stone and plain brick. If you have ever tried pushing standard filler into a deep crack or an awkward recess and watched it slump straight back out, this is the product that solves that particular headache. The liquid consistency means it flows into spaces that a paste or putty simply cannot reach, and once the hardener is introduced, it sets with solid mechanical resistance.
The two-part system uses a polyester resin with a separate peroxide hardener. Mix the two together and you have a fast-setting mortar that bonds well to most masonry substrates. It is not fussy about whether the job is inside or outside, which makes it genuinely practical across a range of site conditions. When cured, the surface can be painted over without any special priming, so it sits neatly into finishing workflows.
Where Metoset Grey Liquid Mortar Gets Used
This product earns its place on jobs where access is awkward or the defect is deeper than a surface filler can handle. Think cracked lintels, spalled concrete columns, chipped step edges or voids behind render. The liquid mortar pours and flows rather than requiring packing in, which saves time on those frustrating jobs where every other repair method feels like trying to stuff a duvet into a letterbox.
The anchoring application is worth noting separately. If you need to fix rebar or a threaded rod into a drilled hole in concrete or brick, Metoset provides a quick-setting, chemically resistant alternative to traditional fixing compounds. It is not a resin anchor cartridge, but for smaller diameter fixings and repair applications, it does the job effectively.
Supplied Hardener Quantities
The 1kg tin comes with one 20g tube of hardener, sufficient for the whole tin. The 5kg tin is supplied with three tubes: two 40g and one 20g. These are pre-measured to the correct ratio, so you are not left guessing at mix ratios on site. Use the grey liquid mortar in the quantities you need and store the rest with the remaining hardener clearly labelled.
Pro Tip: Once you crack open a tube of hardener and mix it in, the clock is running, so only combine what you can apply in one go rather than mixing the whole tin at once.
