Everbuild 125 1hr Decorators Caulk is the one decorators reach for when they need a clean finish without waiting around. It fills and seals gaps in one pass, stays permanently flexible once cured, and is ready to paint over in an hour. On a busy site or a tight domestic schedule, that turnaround matters.
Most gaps around skirting boards, architraves, coving and ceiling lines are never perfectly straight or stable. Timber moves, houses settle, plaster shrinks. A rigid filler will crack and open back up within a season. This caulk flexes with the movement, which is why it holds up long after a standard filler would have given up.
Where Everbuild 125 Decorators Caulk Gets Used
This is the product that sits on practically every decorator’s shelf. You’ll use it along the top of skirting boards before painting, around door frames and window architraves, at ceiling-to-wall junctions, and anywhere a smooth seamless line is needed between two surfaces. It goes on with a standard cartridge gun, smooths off easily with a damp finger or tool, and doesn’t require any sanding before you paint over it.
Because it takes most emulsions and solvent-based paints without issue, there’s no faffing around wondering whether it’s compatible with what’s in your tin. Wallpaper can go straight over it too, which saves time on renovation jobs where the spec changes room to room.
One Hour to Overcoat
The one-hour paint-ready time is what sets the Everbuild 125 apart from slower acrylic caulks. Apply it, tool it off, move on to the next room, and by the time you’re cutting in the first coat, the caulk is ready. It’s a small thing that adds up across a full working day.
At this price, it also makes sense to keep a few cartridges in the van. Running out of caulk on a painting job is the kind of thing that shouldn’t happen twice.
Pro Tip: Run a damp finger along the bead immediately after application before it skins over, and keep a small bowl of water handy to keep the tool or your finger moist throughout, as dried caulk drags and leaves a ragged edge.
Everbuild 125 is used wherever a clean, painted finish is needed between two surfaces that may move slightly over time. Decorators use it routinely on skirting boards, door and window architraves, coving, and ceiling lines before painting. It works equally well on plasterboard joints that aren't structural, around internal window reveals, and along bath or shower panels where a flexible rather than waterproof seal is needed for decor purposes.

Applies with standard cartridge gun
Not suitable for: Not suitable for external use or anywhere exposed to standing water. This is a decorators caulk, not a waterproof sealant, so it should not be used as a replacement for silicone in wet areas such as shower enclosures or around baths.
Load the cartridge into a standard skeleton or trigger-feed gun. Cut the nozzle at a shallow angle to suit the gap width, around 3 to 5mm is typical for most skirting and architrave work. Apply steady, even pressure as you draw the gun along the joint in one continuous pass where possible.
Smooth the bead immediately using a damp finger or caulking tool before a skin forms. Wipe away any excess with a damp cloth. Allow one hour before overpainting with emulsion or solvent-based paint.
Load the 300ml cartridge into a skeleton gun and cut the nozzle tip at a shallow angle
Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from loose material or old flaking filler
Apply the caulk in one steady pass along the gap, keeping consistent gun speed and pressure
Smooth the bead immediately with a damp finger or wet caulking tool before a skin forms
Remove any excess caulk with a damp cloth while still wet
Allow a full hour before applying paint or hanging wallpaper over the caulked area
Can Everbuild 125 Decorators Caulk be used on external gaps?
No. It is designed for internal use only. For external gaps around windows, doors or masonry, you will need a product rated for outdoor exposure and UV resistance, such as a frame sealant or external decorators caulk.
Do I need to prime or sand the caulk before painting over it?
No sanding or priming is required. Once the caulk has dried, which takes around one hour in normal conditions, you can paint straight over it with emulsion or most solvent-based paints. It is one of the genuine time savers with this product.
What gun do I need to apply this caulk?
A standard 300ml skeleton cartridge gun or trigger-feed gun is all you need. Most decorators already have one on the van. There is nothing specialist required for this product.
Everbuild 125 is a one-part acrylic-based decorators caulk and flexible filler. It cures by air drying rather than chemical reaction, which gives it a straightforward one-hour overcoat time in normal indoor conditions. Once fully cured it remains permanently flexible, meaning it accommodates minor structural movement without cracking. It is water-clean-up before curing and solvent-free in application.
