The Bond It Gripbond GB Pro Hybrid Sealant and Adhesive is one of those tubes that earns its place on the van shelf. It handles both bonding and sealing in a single application, which saves time and cuts down on the number of products you need to carry. The bond it gripbond pro hybrid sealant formula is based on hybrid polymer technology, which means it avoids the usual pitfalls of silicone (can’t be painted, sulks around certain materials) and solvent-based adhesives (fumes, staining, compatibility headaches).
It works on a genuinely wide range of surfaces. Stone, concrete, glass, wood, copper, lead, zinc, aluminium, stainless steel, most plastics including PVC and polycarbonates, ceramics, polystyrene, gypsum board, and mirrors with acetate-resistant backing. That list covers a lot of ground, which is why this product ends up on jobs from roofing and cladding to internal fit-out and plumbing. The adhesion holds even on damp or moist surfaces, so you’re not held up waiting for everything to dry before you can crack on.
Where Bond It Gripbond GB Pro Gets Used
One of the more useful properties is the wet-on-wet application. You can apply it in the rain, seal over damp substrates, and it will still cure correctly. It remains permanently flexible once set, so it moves with the joint rather than cracking out over time. This makes it well suited to areas with thermal movement or vibration, things like window surrounds, roofline trims, or expansion-adjacent joints. The coloured versions also carry anti-pick properties, which is a subtle but practical benefit in public-facing installations.
The gripbond pro hybrid sealant contains no silicone, solvents, isocyanates or phthalates, and produces no meaningful odour during application. It can be over-painted with water-based paints once cured, and it won’t discolour most surfaces including natural stone, though a test patch is always worth doing on very porous stone before committing. CE approved and conforms to EN15651-1 F INT.
Pro Tip: On natural stone or highly porous substrates, apply a dedicated primer before using Gripbond Pro to prevent any risk of absorption into the material and to maximise bond strength at the surface.
