Heavy duty fixing band in a 10m roll is one of those products that earns its place on the van without ever making a fuss about it. It’s galvanised steel, pre-punched with fixing holes at regular intervals, and it bends and cuts without needing anything more than a decent pair of tin snips and a few spare minutes. If you’re strapping pipes, supporting joists, hanging ductwork or banding anything that needs holding firmly in place, this is what you reach for.
The galvanised coating does the job it’s supposed to do — protecting the steel from moisture, condensation, and the general damp misery of roof voids, service ducts and underfloor spaces. It’s not going to rust out six months after you’ve finished, which matters when the customer rings you two years later asking why something’s creaking. It won’t be this.
Where Heavy Duty Fixing Band Gets Used on Site
Pre-punched holes are a genuine time-saver. Line up your band, mark your fixing positions, and you’re straight into driving screws or bolts without measuring, drilling, or swearing at a poorly placed mark. The holes are evenly spaced along the full length, so whether you’re cutting a 300mm strap or using a longer run, you’ve almost always got a fixing point where you want one.
The band is flexible enough to form around curved surfaces and awkward profiles, but holds its shape once fixed. You can double it over for a thicker fixing, fold it into a saddle bracket shape, or use it as a tie between structural members. Four widths are available — 12mm, 18mm, 20mm and 25mm — so you can match the band to the load and the fixing situation. Wider band gives you more bearing area and more hole positions per run; narrower band is easier to work into tight spaces.
Ten metres per roll gives you enough for a proper job rather than running short halfway through a ceiling. Bulk pricing is available if you’re buying for a full project or restocking the van — worth a call if you need quantity.
Pro Tip: When forming fixing band around timber joists or noggins, pre-bend it with your thumbs before fixing rather than trying to pull it tight with the screws, which can cause the band to distort around the hole and weaken the fixing point.
