The Timco Classic stainless steel screws tray gives you 895 screws across 12 of the most commonly used sizes, all in one divided plastic case. If you are working in a damp environment, fixing green oak, or doing any job where a standard zinc screw will corrode and fail, this is the sensible choice. A2 stainless steel holds up where ordinary screws do not, and having the right size to hand without digging through a van full of boxes is genuinely useful on site.

Each screw is built around the Classic multi-purpose design. The double countersunk head reduces the chance of head shear and helps the screw sit flush without needing to go at it twice. The 40-degree deep single thread gives solid pull-out resistance in softwood, chipboard and MDF, and in hardwood once you have pre-drilled. On lengths of 25mm and above, a single slash cut reduces torque and limits splitting when you are screwing close to the edge of a board. All sizes in this tray are fully threaded, which helps in thinner materials where partial threading would leave you with a loose joint.

Where the Timco Stainless Steel Screws Tray Earns Its Keep

This tray is well suited to joiners, carpenters and general builders who regularly work with materials or in conditions that accelerate corrosion. Green oak is the obvious one. It contains tannins and moisture that will eat through a zinc coating in no time. Coastal locations, bathrooms, kitchens, external decking, and garden structures all put the same kind of pressure on a fixing. Using stainless here is not overcautious, it is just correct practice.

The mixed format also suits contractors who need a stainless option for occasional jobs but do not want to commit to bulk boxes of every individual size. One tray covers most situations, takes up minimal space, and keeps everything organised. Worth every penny if it saves you one warranty callback.

Pro Tip: When screwing into hardwood with stainless steel screws, always pre-drill a clearance hole slightly smaller than the shank to avoid snapping the screw head off mid-drive, as stainless is softer than case-hardened steel and will twist off if forced.
