When something gets in someone’s eyes on site, you don’t want to be hunting around for a working eye wash station. This eye wash saline bottle is a straightforward replacement for eye wash stations that have been used or are running low. Sterile, non-toxic, and ready to use, it’s the kind of thing that should always be stocked in your first aid kit before you need it rather than after.

The solution is isotonic saline, which matches the natural salt concentration of the eye. That matters because it means it flushes the eye without causing additional irritation. Whether the job involves grinding, cutting, drilling, or working with chemical products, eye contamination can happen quickly. Having a fresh, sealed bottle on hand means the response can be immediate.

Where Eye Wash Saline Bottles Belong on Site

Eye wash stations are a legal requirement in many working environments, particularly where there is a risk of eye injury from dust, debris, or chemical splash. These bottles are the consumable part of that system. Once a bottle has been opened and used, it should be replaced. Saline solution doesn’t keep indefinitely once the seal is broken, so a twist and seal cap helps where a bottle has only been partially used, but replacement is always the better call for a compliant station.

The twist and seal cap design is a small but useful feature. It keeps the solution sterile before first use and reduces the risk of contamination if the bottle is stored in a dusty or dirty environment, which on a building site is basically everywhere.

These are also worth keeping in site vehicles, welfare units, and tool stores, not just mounted eye wash points. If a first aider is responding to an eye injury away from a fixed station, a spare bottle in a kit bag makes all the difference.

At this price, there’s no good reason to run an eye wash station dry. Stock up, keep a few spare, and rotate them before the expiry date. Your H&S officer will thank you, and more importantly, so will the person who gets a face full of masonry dust on a Wednesday afternoon.

Pro Tip: Check the expiry date when restocking your eye wash station. Saline solution degrades over time and an out-of-date bottle in an emergency is not much use to anyone.
